HAL 9001 is a character in the Super Mario series. He first appeared in The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!. He is based off of HAL from 2001: Space Oddesy. He appeared in the episode, '9001: A Mario Oddesy.' In it, Einstein invented him so Mario and Luigi would have a pizza making machine.
