The Carrot is a powerup in the Super Mario series. It first appeared in Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins. They are also called Bunny Ears. They let Mario slowly float. It was referenced in Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, where it was called the Giga-Carrot.
